User Guide

How to apply the oil when the wood is untreated

1. Sand the surface with grit 150 sandpaper. Hoover the countertop to remove any dust from sanding.
2. Clean the surface carefully with Wood Cleaner mixed with water in a ratio of 1:20. After cleaning leave the countertop to dry for a minimum of 4 hours at 20 degrees celcius.
3. Carefully stir the oil.
4. Distribute a suitable amount of oil with a brush in an even layer. If possible, apply at least one layer of oil to The back of the countertop.
5. Wait for approx.30 minutes at 20 degrees, while the oil penetrates into the wood. Apply more oil if dry areas appear.
6. Polish longitudinally with a red hand scrubber.
7. Wipe off excess oil with a lint-free cotton cloth. The surface must be completely free from excess oil.
8. Leave the countertop to rest for an hour and repeat steps 4-7.
9. The countertop should be treated 2-3 times before use. At the final treatment sand in the wet oil using sandpaper for wet sanding grit 280-320 before wiping off.
10. The oil is dry enough for use after 24 hours at 20 degrees. During this time the countertop must not be affected by water. The oil is not properly hardened until after approx.1 week and should be handled with care during this period. Spilt liquid must be rapidly wiped off.

How to apply the oil if the wood has previously been oil treated:

1. Sand the surface with grit 150 sandpaper. Hoover the countertop to remove any dust from sanding.
2. The surface is carefully cleaned with Wood Cleaner mixed with water in a ratio of 1:20. Following the cleaning the countertop must dry for a minimum of 8 hours at 20 degrees celcius.
3. Repeat steps 3-10. Kindly refer to the guidelines for untreated wood.
4. After 24 hours at 20 degrees the oil is dry enough for use. During this period the countertop must not be impacted by water. The oil is properly hardened after approx.1 week and during this period it must be treated with care. Spilt liquid must be wiped off immediately.

The countertop must be maintained as required. WOCA countertop gel or countertop oil is recommended. Please refer to "How to apply the oil if the wood has previously been oil treated". Use Natural Soap or Natural Soap Spray.
